Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share some progress photos of my Rostock, current and future plans, and unfortunately some user errors.
I am new to the 3D printing community and to be honest, I never expected one to be as thriving as what you all have created here. With certainty I can say that without your tireless efforts to help new comers like myself, this adventure could have potentially sucked a**. Thank you
As an aside, to anyone considering purchasing a Rostock kit, I would wholeheartedly recommend that you whip out the credit card and strap in for the ride. There are a lot of forum posts out there discussing the challenging aspects of building/maintaining a Delta style printer (calibration, sensitive to movement, trouble at outer edges etc...) If you happen to be researching and are trying to weigh the pros and cons, perform a very simple scientific test. Show a few people your possibles, the one that gets the most "Wow that's badass" is clearly the best choice for you. I spent hours researching potential cons to all the available printer kits out there and I ended up making my decision based on how cool the printer looked. And the Rostock was an easy choice because virtually all my research on delta's led me to these forums. Additionally thanks to Geneb, assembly/calibration is fun, extremely rewarding, and a huge learning experience for anyone who's new to the scene.
Without further however the hell you spell ado, I give you my currently nameless Rostock!

I am currently down and out due to a likely shortage in my hot end fan or led wiring. After wiring up two additional layer fans, adding an 80mm angel eye led and wrapping my hot end in silicone tape I blew the F3 Little Fuse. Powered up and connected to printer with no issues, manually tested layer fans with success. With fans at 100% set hotend temp to 200C, led panel and Rambo immediately went dark, and lost connection to matter control. PSU continued to run as usual, had I been able to connect or manually control printer I would imagine that the motors would have been responsive. I switched the F2 & F3 fuses after disconnecting all attachments from end effector. LCD panel works properly, matter control connects properly, but as expected zero motor/extruder response.
Tried again multiple times individually connecting everything, heating up hotend, etc... no blown fuse. I'm guessing the problem was my led ring making contact somewhere. Out of curiosity does anyone know if superglue bridged between two contacts will create a short? I used magnets to attach the ring adapter to the end effector, and a liberal amount of super glue to attach the led ring to the adapter. It should be noted that I had the led ring successfully working while printing before i added the new adapter and additional layer fans. Im guessing I just made an error in the wiring somewhere, but if anyone has some insight I'd greatly appreciate your recommendations.

I plan on branching into some of the more exotic filaments once I've got a little more experience under my belt. I have the "Fly-N-Strude" from TrickLazer staged for setup and will probably install while I wait on the fuses. I also have the hotend led indicator and am trying to creatively come up with a good place to put it. As you can see I've mounted the E3D under the effector platform for increased visibility, heat management etc... as per 626Pilot's recommendations.
I originally intended on using 626Pilot's Lucky 7 layer duct, however I believe (please correct if wrong) that it was setup for use with an effector platform different than the currently shipped seemecnc platform. I've kept one of the lucky 7's and used someone else's modified version. Any potential downfalls to this configuration?
Anyways, thanks again for all your help! Like to take a second to thank Geneb, Eagle, mhackney, Jimustanguitar, 626Pilot and everyone else again for creating such an informative forum. Really looking forward to seeing this community continue to learn and grow and am happy to be a part of it.
James
***Quick edit*** <<<<Complete newb to forum's, how the hell do I post pictures in my post so that they display, rather than having to copy link's that require clicking. Thanks
