Greetings from Houston (and exciting news about the V3)

Hi folks,

My name is Dermot Conner and I'm a paddy ex-pat living in Houston TX. I'm a glorified code monkey by day, husband, dad, and tinkerer by night. I worked in industrial automation and engineering in a former life.

My 40th birthday is coming up Real Soon Now. Beloved has informed me that, while I'm welcome to give it a try, she doesn't think I'm going to have much luck finding a midlife crisis trophy wife. Certainly not sporting all those bruises. And I already quite like my car. So a quirky-ass DIY 3d delta printer seemed the only reasonable and prudent alternative. I'm completely new to the field (though I've been keeping half an eye on it for more than a decade), all my previous experience has focused on either violently removing material, or squirting it all in in one fell swoop. This whole 'overnight print' thing should be a nice change of pace.

Now on to the good news; by the simple expedient of clicking 'place order' on my RMax V2 just this instant, I've set off a chain of events that is all but guaranteed to end up with the V3 (or whatever it'll be marketed as) being announced in t-minus 2 weeks from now. You're all welcome! (And sorry if I got anybody's hopes up :-) )

Oh, and I suppose it's worth noting that I will be having an open-house build weekend on Friday/Satrday/Sunday the 5th, 6th and 7th of February on the west side of Houston, so if any Houstonians want to pop by and say hi just PM me!

Hello Dermot and welcome to the forum.
I like your sense of humor, should make for interesting reading down the road.
I also wanted to thank you for purchasing the SeeMeCNC printer, we consider it the world's best printer kit.
We would love some pictures of your build if you get a chance while you get involved with the build.
Happy Building and we are here if you have questions. :)
