Proto pasta iron letter sign

Post by drwho »

We're making a letter for our door. We just finished a test print in PLA. We'll be printing in the iron filament soon. I'll update this post with the results.

Very nice but you are over extruding quite a bit and maybe running a little hot.

Is the over extrusion causing the folding? Still new to PLA so pointers are greatly appreciated.

If you talking about the ridges on the top layer the yes, for sure. Make sure the layer fan is running too at 100% for starters. It will also help eliminate the stringing.

Thank you for your tips, it was running much too hot and as a result was over extruding. Turned it down to about 195 and it seems to be doing much better. We have moved to the FE PLA, and it seems to be printing great. The front seems to be not sticking but I think we just need to recalibrate some things. Ill post pictures a little later.
