Hello from Orlando, FL!

Post by flip807 »

Good morning good people!
So I just finished building and finished doing the paper calibration on my Rostock Max V2 last night. I'm going to try and do the dial indicator calibration once I get all the parts needed to mount it.
I just wanted to introduced myself to the forum. This has been a valuable resource through out the build and I'm sure that I'll be spending quite a bit of time here in the immediate future.

Hey Flip! Welcome to the forum.

Let us know how your first prints go. The community is definitely here to help!

I was just in Orlando for a convention, and one of the tech tours was to a local makerspace. Are you part of FamiLab?

No unfortunately I'm completely new to 3d printing. I did study computer animation at Full Sail and worked on creating models. I'm hoping that I can use some of the knowledge from that towards creating some interesting prints. Aside from that I'm working to help Travelphotog with any of his prototypes, testing or even if it's to bounce ideas off of someone. So far I haven't been able to do much, my mother board died on me the day after I posted on here. I just got it up and running again.

HEY GUYS!!!

This is my best buddy! We have worked together for years now out on the road. He is pretty much one of the coolest guys I know and super smart. I just sent Flip an old Gen1 mount I had on the work bench to mount up his dial indicator and get all calibrated on his new MAX! Then the other day I managed to anodize one of the newest mounts and send it out to him for his new E3d hotend so he could get up and printing ASAP on the style of stuff he bought the MAX for. I made sure to get him all setup with the "good stuff" like the Tricklaser Carbon Fiber Arms and a E3d hotend. Also made sure he changed out the RAMBo fan and such from the start to avoid issues down the road.

I am really excited to see his printer up and going and I can not wait to see the great things he will bring to the MAX world with his modeling skills. I think he just got sick of hearing my rave about my MAX and decided it might just be easier to buy one and join the club.

Well I am looking forward to seeing his first print here shortly also and I can say that Flip really is a great guy, I'm honored to call him a friend and I try as often as I can to follow his example. I think he is going to really show us some cool prints pretty soon and I am excited that my best buddy has his MAX built at last!

By the way brother.. I too am expecting some build shots! Show us the beautiful new printer!! I want to see it too!!!
