Hi guys,
so I'm about to install my hotend onto the printer but i have this nagging feeling that the RTV was not applied properly. Should i remove the resistors and reapply (with new resistors) ? The sillicone seems to be holding them really tightly

The silicone doesn't have to be cosmetically pleasing, it's just there to "glue" the heaters in place and to help transfer that heat. As long as there aren't air-bubbles trapped inside that would expand when heated, use it until you have a reason to rebuild it.

Kind of looks like mine did. Should be fine if there isn't any air pockets. When I did the initial hot-end heat-up, one resistor let out a smoky belch, but worked ok. I noticed after some prints that the silicone was coming loose on that resistor, and that there was a clear air pocket in it. This time I tried in inject the RTV in there as much as possible and it's been good since.
