Cura software
Cura software
This my first time using the forum so I hope I don't mess this up. I noticed you were discussing Cura software. I recently down loaded installed the software and I think I'm having problems with it. I created a shortcut on my desk top and every time I double click on it, it wants to reinstall the software. I also noticed that when I right click on the icon and select Open nothing happens. I am wondering if you could tell me what is wrong. (PC w/Windows 7) Thanks, Norm77

Re: Cura software
Welcome to the forum!
To clear up your problem with Cura we need to first uninstall the one you have. Open Control Panel and go to Programs and Features, find Cura in the list
and click it to uninstall it. Once it is uninstalled reboot your computer and then open your browser and go to http://software.ultimaker.com/
Choose to install Cura 14.03 for Windows 7, it should download the exe file then run the file to install Cura 14.03.
This should solve your Cura problems. If you go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, and Cura is not in the list, Go to the location given above and
download and install anyway.

Re: Cura software
While any software is running in a newer version of windows, you can right click on it and "pin" it to the taskbar. That's how I make a shortcut to my programs if there isn't one by default.
Re: Cura software
Just wanted to thank you guys for your help. Later after messing around with the installation I found out that I had incorrectly created a shortcut to the desktop. After creating a new desktop icon through the start menu I had no trouble with starting Cura from the icon. Again I want to thank you for your suggestions. I hope "some day" when I get a little more experience with 3D printing I can pay it forward. Take care... Norm77
