Gyrornament
Re: Gyrornament
That looks great! Incredibly smooth looking.
Is that ABS or PLA?
What sort of "post processing" did you do to it?

Re: Gyrornament
yes this is out of ABS.
not much post processing other than removing the bottom support and trimming it flush, other than that it prints very good.
the center support for the snowflake had problem with it sticking to the bed so I chopped a little off the bottom in netfabb to have more to stick to the bed.
; layer_height = .2
; perimeters = 2
; top_solid_layers = 4
; bottom_solid_layers = 4
; fill_density = .3
; perimeter_speed = 40
; infill_speed = 40
; travel_speed = 200
; nozzle_diameter = .5
; filament_diameter = 1.75
; extrusion_multiplier = 1.0
; perimeters extrusion width = 0.60mm
; infill extrusion width = 0.60mm
; solid infill extrusion width = 0.60mm
; top infill extrusion width = 0.60mm
; first layer extrusion width = 0.60mm

Re: Gyrornament
Tried printing it twice now but both times failed on the upper overhaning parts after 4+ hours
The head seems to be knocking some of the pieces off....
What are your retract / z-lift settings?

retraction:
length 7.0 mm
z lift .2
speed 80
extra length on restart .1
min travel after retraction 3
