Nylon types.

Post by Flateric »

Can someone fill me in on the benefits of the 618 nylon over the 645. Why would you go with the 618? The 645 seems more managable and user friendly.

Biggest difference Between the two is that you can Print 645 with the stock hot end as opposed to 618 which needs much higher temps to print with. They are both pretty stringy but 645 not as much. 618 being the strongest of the 2, both materials show sign of being very flexible, Almost like a plastic rubber. Hockey pucks are made of a similar plastic as 618. Both warp extremely, to the point if the print is large enough it will warp your bed.

I'm personally looking for a PC/ABS blend. Or 645.618 ABS blend. Now those would be some materials!

That's true, no hot bed but you must use a piece of Garoilite Board, Which always tend to come warped, they are never perfectly flat.
