Temperature drops than def
I have a Rostock V3 and have been fighting this problem for almost a year. I start a print, after awhile, the temperature starts to slowly drop below the target without ever recovering (normally there is always a small fluctuation). Sooner or later, the lcd then reads def and the print is toast. I have swapped HE280s, reseated everything in site on the Rambo, put is a whip holder and even contrived a harness with springs, twist ties and zip ties to keep the y-connector from flopping around (which can cause the whip to fall out after enough back and forth). This is frustrating especially since I had everything running really well for a few days. I'm probably going to have to bring the printer in, but in case anybody has any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it, I have posted here.

Ivanhandler, sorry to hear you're still having problems. I'm not sure what kind of harness you contrived (springs?), but I still think it's that whip connection...I had the same exact problem until I printed that mount and clip I mentioned before (luckily they printed before I got the def error), I really have no idea of what else it could be.
If I were you, to troubleshoot and make sure it's the cause (or not) of the problem, I'd pull back that sleeve on the whip and bypass the accelerometer for the hotend cartridge and sensor wiring. The only setback is that your accelerometer's auto-leveling function will be out of commission until you find a more elegant solution.
I did it a while ago for my hotend fan to make it thermostatically controlled and can't remember the specifics, but I know I had to substitute the wires for the probe (int, sda, scl) for the other half of the circuit that was originally shared by the other devices in the mount. Just be careful with what connections you make, not for the electronics beginner. You may have to extend the wires somewhat to make a connection, but it shouldn't be too difficult. I hope that helps.
