Hi guys,
This weekend the V2 is getting a Berd-Air and 713maker effector and mount (oh, and PEI). I had a couple of questions.
1 - I'm not an electrical engineer, although I find this stuff fascinating. What gauge wire would be needed for the eswitch/pump. I'm sort of the type that always runs larger than needed, but I thought I'd ask before overkilling it. I'm also fine with someone pointing me to a resource that would help me decide. I'm not sure how much current the pump needs?
2 - I'm looking at Xenocrates pipe mount, but I'm not exactly sure how it fits on the 713 mount. Anyone have a picture?
3 - I'm definitely installing the circle pipe. Do people think the straight pipe is a good addition, and exactly what placement seems to augment the circle the best? I'm thinking it is best to direct it across the piece to move the turbulent hot air away more efficiently? Anyway - pics would be appreciated. I'll play around, but why re-invent if someone has already experiemented.
Thanks.
D

1- I would not go with less than 20 gauge (Slightly heavier than ethernet wire) for the MAX pump, which seems to be all you can get these days.
2- Picture! 3-, no comment. Don't have or use it.

be careful hooking up the berdair to your electronics. It will work fine on the rambo, since it has the life saving diode, but some electronics like the duet don't and it caused me to blow the mosfet on my board >_<. That's my fault, as i've ready plenty of times about brushed motors....

Re: Berd-Air and 713 upgrade.
Thanks. I put on the flyback diode and used the Makerhive interface board. Works great. They were very helpful. 713maker mount is here and looks great.
The only think that has come up is that the set holes in the pipe mount don't fit my 3mm set screws... hmmm 4mm looks to big. I'll have to find a solution to hold the pipe more secure.
Thanks guys
Oops - that Zip tie needs to be tighter so it can't slide down over the tube. Its meant to control the loop in the clear tube loosely, but that's too loose!
Nice clean look to the machine. Love the ability to run without fans for part cooling.
