HE280 Upgrade Out of the Box?

Post by bwalch »

Hello,

I've been looking to get into 3D printing for awhile and my dear wife Surprised me with a Rostock Max V2 kit (which is the model I would have chosen myself). I'm comfortable with soldering... but am a little intimidated by the calibration process. I'm wondering if it might be worth doing the HE280 upgrade up front rather than installing the kit Hot End as it looks like it makes calibration much simpler.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

My recommendation would be to build the kit stock and learn how to manually calibrate. It really is not that difficult and you'll gain an appreciation for your printer and calibration that will pay dividends in getting the best prints. The HE280 retrofit can be done at any time.

Thanks. I'll give the existing parts a try.
