Is there any reason to update my firmware from .91 on my Rostock V2? If so, are there any wiring changes needed for the stepper motors?
Thanks

Re: Firmware Update?
Unless you're planning on adding an HE280 or using PT100 type sensors (Or need one of the other functions it specifically adds), no. But if you do, there's really no need to change the wiring. Just select the printer type Rostock Max V2 rather than V3.

Re: Firmware Update?
Thank you. Based on the updated V2 manual, the wires for the extruder stepper motor look like they are reversed. I guess I will just have to experiment with them.
Thanks again

Re: Firmware Update?
I went ahead and updated mine but I haven't run a job on it yet because I haven't finished the new power supply and don't want to fight with the ATX one anymore.
According to the changelog, almost every version on the 0.91 branch improved delta support. 0.92 is listed as adding decoupling tests for heater and thermistor (which I'd think a big deal from a safety perspective), fixing SD print pause issues, and adding parallelogram distortion correction. Even if you're not going to use autolevel or mixing hot ends, I'd think there's enough there to be worthwhile.

Re: Firmware Update?
I just updated my V2 to the new software and also added the HE280. There will be a few things in the firmware you need to change. The first I remember is that the knobe rotation for the menus on the LCD is reversed with from that of .91 versions because they now have a different LCD board.
You must change the menu direction in the UI.h file to work with the older boards that worked with the .91 firmware.
I also find that now I have to turn the knobe two clicks to make it do anything. I have not found the fix for that yet. I hope somewone knows the fix for that.
