Hi everyone,
I'm using an ORION printer, a problem came up that the first layer is always not attaching to the bed.
I'm using PLA, extruder 200/bed 60. One layer of white gaffer tape on glass heated bed. I've tried a lot of different Z height, from too far to too close to bed. They were all not working.
Any suggestion? I notice that when I run tower g-code file, nozzle seems to scratch tape when moving to one of the towers. Could it be a bed leveling issue?

Re: First layer not sticking problem
Have you tried with different bed surface materials?
Uhu glue, blue painters tape, kapton tape, PVA glue. Those are good candidates.
Directly to glass with the bed at 60ºc worked for me too.
PEI sticks really well, but that's another cost.

Re: First layer not sticking problem
remove the gaffer tape and try the recommended things that Tincho85 listed

Hi all,
Thank you so much for your suggestions,
I switch my surface material to the blue painter tape, it's working pretty well,
Another key change is that I use an piano wire to clean up the nozzle, somebody must leave some burned PLA causing a jam in nozzle. Once the material could be extruded smoothly, the first layer is sticking pretty good.
I really appreciate your help, which makes my life much easier when my boss put me to this 3D printer assignment, I never used one before.
