You are right... I love it! because I hate the wiring as it is now, and the difficulty to add wires through the alu machine extrusions...
But it will probably cost X times as much as the old board...

For someone who is sure they'll never run more than one heater/thermistor, it would be excessive. I see it as more for someone running multiple hot ends with distinct heaters, who wants to minimize the weight of all the cables that have to run up there. Every ounce pressing down on the effector makes it harder for the printer to be accurate. If something like this is made, and connectable directly to the 3DP controller via serial, there would also be a lot less electrically noisy spaghetti in the electronics bay.
It would unquestionably be more expensive. Some of the extra cost would be reduced by not having to buy long runs of cable with as many conductors. The MCUs need not be particularly expensive. Components like optocouplers and FETs could easily add up to more than that. Of course, that "quick change" hot end would become hot-swappable, making for quicker changes without the irritation of having to turn off the printer, unplug one thing, plug another thing in, turn it on, home it, and move it to a good position for tightening down the screws. You could just leave the printer on the whole time, and the platform would stay where it was put. The hot swap capability also enables the possibility of using tool changers, for example if you wanted to use jaws or a vacuum system for pick-and-place, or a paste extruder for drawing your own circuit paths in silver paste.
This idea is fairly obvious, and one that telegraph companies started employing well over a century ago. I think if we fast-forward a few years, such devices will be common, especially on multi-extrusion machines with all sorts of lights and fans and whatever other gadgets people invent down the line. I have seen a few ideas for using deltas to really build things, including pick-and-place in the middle of a 3D print. To turn a delta printer from a trinket forge into a manufacturing system, we need this sort of tech, and that is something I believe will happen over time.

I want to thank the person who restarted this thread as i did not even know about the existing yellow jacket board used in combination with the 713Maker brackets it solves the quick change for example using a specific hotted for PLA and one for ABS and another for abrasive filaments (as well as having a holder for dial indicator) and am i right in thinking that if they were set up to have the nozzle at the same point in relation to the effector platform that recalibration would not be needed when swapping the hot ends? or would the change in the mass at the effector mean that a recalibration run is called for?
so thanks for the folks who freshened these threads you folks are educating me every day about all of this.... i even understand enough now to see what you are driving at with your request for a multiplexed system for the very advanced things yo mention...
it seems i have picked a very exciting time to get involved with 3D printing in general and deltas in particular

The calibration would be fine, but you'd want to redo the height adjustment as the hot end will never screw down exactly the same way twice. Unless maybe you use a torque wrench?

For those of you that want to use 24 volts on the Hotend, I recommend you replace the Resistor Array (4 pin yellow thing) with this one,

I will soon be replacing the 2K ohm one with this version to make the board fully 12-24 volt compatible. The 2K ohm array will work with 24v and your LEDs will be fine, but the resistor network is only rated for 1/8 watt. With 24v applied it is pushing 1/4 watt. The 4k one will cut the power in half, back to 1/8 watt.

Jassper , I at last got around to ordering this board and i also ordered one of your clever air cooler kits as well. in large part because of the great service and support I see you providing here. I wn going to set up my e3dv6 and a spare effector with them them.

I have changed the Thermistor connection to match the fans and LED connectors, and it should now miss the E3D fan shroud.
Keeping in mind that these connections can be mounted top or bottom. I have also included an Alternative connection point.
I may also be offering a pre-assembled board complete with wired main connector.
Any other suggestions?
