Thanks to the community and vendor for coming together to offer this great resource for not only SeeMeCNC products, but 3d printing in general.

I've been printing on a kit built Prusa Mendel i2 for about a year now and a few months after buying it, I realized that I needed to start working on my second machine to make some of the larger projects happen. I spent some time on reprap.org and fell in love with the Delta's and the Max in particular. I liked the price of the kit and the quality looked like a commercial product instead of some pile of all-thread and wires so I started saving with the goal of a Christmas purchase. Then they went and dropped the price $100 over Thanksgiving and I was able to order early!

I've spent the week watching build videos, reading everything I can about the printer, and getting my filament dried out with the 25w bulb in a bucket method. Delivery is supposed to be on Friday, so if all goes well, I'll be printing by Sunday night. For upgrades, I've already got an e3d v6 hot-end with a range of nozzles up to .8mm and might try the auto-leveling with the FSRs eventually. There's also a whole new world of filaments to explore since the i2 was really only used for PLA.

What do I print? Mainly enclosures for electronics projects, but all sorts of knick knacks just to perfect the craft. My favorite was probably designing and printing a balloon powered 'tricycle' that used mini CD's for wheels and won two of the three categories in my daughter's school competition (fastest across the finish and farthest traveled). Best of all, from the occasional ad on Craigslist offering 3d print services, I've met some really great local artists and makers and learned more by helping them with their own projects. I hope this community to be similarly stocked with bright, creative people willing to share their knowledge. From what I've read this week, I doubt I'll be disappointed.

Hi Mark and welcome to the Forum.
I am glad that the $100 price reduction enabled you to purchase the printer earlier then you could have before and now begins the monotonous wait until it arrives.

Got everything done but the RAMBo hookup and the e3d v6 install. Taking a break for a few days to work on customer projects. This has really been a hassle free kit.
