Fly'NStrude with Geared Stepper Motor
Fly'NStrude with Geared Stepper Motor
Here are a couple pieces I'm going to try out with my metal max frame. I was planning on using Brian's Fly 'N Strude, but the fact that I chose a geared stepper kinda makes that a no-go. It's a two-piece design, with an adapter and top plate. The adapter raises the top plate 2.5mm (.100") above the stepper body to allow for attaching the bands, and I did my best to set the filament path as straight as possible when the machine is at X0Y0. I welcome any suggested modifications.

Re: Fly'NStrude with Geared Stepper Motor
The Fly-n-Strude clamps to the geared stepper motor just fine. I have it setup that way on one of my MAX machines.
Not sure what mounting issues you are having?

It honestly didn't occur to me to install it this way until I had the adapter cut. I meant no disrespect at all.

@ ZakRabbit
yes, that is how I have one of my machines setup.
I see yours has a longer body stepper motor, but still mounts up. You will be a bit heavier and motor more offset, but it should be fine. Adjust bungees to make it hang mostly straight when at center of table.
