NOW what length would you all want?
I am thinking longer than 300 could be even better.
Heck, with that, I'd vote 325mm, just because the further away from horizontal, the better.
325 is what I am thinking also.

so, you "300" guys have any issue with 325 if I make 325 a standard length we offer?

The bigger the better. Even if the arms go past the glass, it would push the between tower issue more towards the edge.

325 is fine by me..... can I get a trade in on my old arms :) there have been 2 prints I would have liked to have done, but could not get the full 11 so this would definitely open things up.

Fine by me, 300 was just the next round number that made sense. A minimum, based on my made up arms equal build diameter rule. If the material is there, do it.

OK, we now have TWO new extened length sizes available, a few made of each...
300 mm - http://www.tricklaser.com/300-MM-Carbon ... FTX300.htm
(31 mm/1.22" longer than stock)
325 mm - http://www.tricklaser.com/325-MM-Carbon ... FTX325.htm
(56 mm/2.205" longer than stock)

269 mm is the Rostock MAX OEM plastic arm length.

Note: these will reduce your print height by amount arm length is extended.

ramai wrote:Just out of curiosity I pushed my printer to the edge manually, and it does not quite make it to the white line. I suppose that would be disappointing if you bought the printer to specifically hit that maximum diameter. However, good luck finding any other printer near the build volume of the rmx for anywhere around $1k.
To be fair this isn't really a 1k dollar printer. If this printer was sold assembled and 100% it would cast MUCH MUCH more than 1k dollars. You are getting a kit for 1k (which isn't really complete even) and then you have to put in a significant amount of time that has value to you I'd imagine. So really it's quite a bit more than 1 grand :)
