Hello from Chantilly, Virginia
We (my spouse of 41 years and I) ordered the Rostock Max kit yesterday after considering what to upgrade to from our Deezmaker Bukito. The build volume, hackability and healthy community are the major factors for our choice as well as a chance to experiment with a delta machine. Cheers

I guess the couple that prints together, stays together... That's fantastic and an inspiration to hear! I look forward to seeing what you two come up with!

Welcome to the forum and the Rostock Max V2.
I live in Northern Virginia too, built my Rostock in October and love it.
Send a PM if you get stuck on the build or need some local help.
The PETG from Microcenter, not far from Chantilly, is real nice material and relatively inexpensive ($25).

I am certainly old enough to remember, most of them were near the manual typewriters that even used an actual ribbon saturated by ink.ZakRabbit wrote:There are others around old enough to remember...PlasticFolk wrote:Ah our favorite toy store - We'll check that out and will definitely keep your offer of help in the rolodex - yes we know - what the heck is a rolodex? When I long for "the good old days" things like these pull me back to the reality that we are in and I would not trade our technology for anything.
Thanks for bringing up the old memories!

I'm old enough to remember the Rolodex.
And the mimeograph machine they made copies with in elementary school too, a technological wonder in its time.
3D printers were science fiction back then, and are an indispensable tool for me at work now.
