[Solved] Printer won't turn on
I have about a year old rostock max v2 with the viotek 450W power supply. It's been working great, but went to turn it on today and nothing happens. I can't hear any fans running. How can I diagnose this issue? thanks! (i have a multimeter)

Unplug the PSU from the Rambo, check the power switch wiring (green and black if I recall) and try to turn it on.
If it does, then it's not the PSU. Rambo fuses maybe?

Hmmm no dice. Unplugged PSU from Rambo, power switch is ok. But I turn on the printer and I nothing happens in the power supply. I expect I should at least hear a fan spinning?

If you have a voltage meter you could check at the power connector where it attaches to the Rambo. If you're not getting 12v there you could have a blown fuse in the power supply. I believe the stock power supply's fan always runs when switched on.
Just obviously unplug the mains if you open up the power supply to poke around.

If you are going to open the power supply, be VERY careful. The capacitors can hold a charge for long after they have been switched off (they are charged to ~320vDC).
But they are shunted by bleeder resistors which will reduce the voltage to a safe value in a minute or two.
To be sure, wait five minutes after unplugging the PSU before touching anything inside.

Re: Printer won't turn on
thank you also for the safety tip! I took apart the power supply - and well I didn't see any issues - I concluded that it was fried since it wasnt delivering any power. thanks for the help!
