extruder stepper issue

Post by ish311 »

I tried searching and can't find anything about my particular issue so i shall ask.

my stepper motor for my extruder does exactly nothing..... no twitch no dance has continuity and the XYZ motors work fine. it's plugged into the far right socket on the RAMBO.

they are the kyo...whatever ones and i adjusted the programming in the arduino. set the stepper at 160.

Did you heat up the hot end? Stepper for the extruder won't work until the hot end reaches a specific temp.

tried at both 190c and 200c and still did nothing

forgot to mention i'm using the Mac client of mattercontrol

will get out the multimeter again tommorow and recheck the continuity but i saw elsewhere that the instructions for rewiring the stepper my not have the right configuration. but that also mentioned having jittery motors then

For a quick wiring test you can plug the extruder into one of the XYZ ports to see if you get any movement when you home all. just hover the power button in case it does something crazy.

Look at page 194 of the V2 2nd Edition manual. The far right socket (next to the mounting screw) should be empty. The sockets are X, Y, Z, Z, E0, E1. Your extruder should be plugged in one socket to the left of far right.
