Belts cracking/wearing?

So I've had my printer since November, but doing a visual inspection yesterday while fixing a couple of issues, I noticed all 3 belts have a lot of cracking over their most used areas - now this seems pretty poor considering it's only 4 months old!

Anyone else had the same?

Presumably I should contact SeeMeCNC to get some new ones sent out? They should last longer than 4 months surely? Not even been printing that much!

They do have an odd texture on them.

I've been running the same belts for 2 years without any noticeable degradation. Teoman is right that they have a crackled texture to them right out of the gate, but they are real industrial belts that I'm sure have conditioners in the rubber to keep them from oxidizing.

I'll see if I can get a picture of them, it's the first time I've noticed it and never seen it on my other printer!

Sorry to worry you guys, it does indeed seem to be the texture, my bad for not inspecting it properly

One thing I did notice though, the belt is rubbing the edge of the V-slot slightly (you can see the deposits on the right hand side), is there a way to stop this at all?

That's basically the alignment of the belt tensioner. Certain angles will cause the belt to track towards the outer edges of the bearing until it contacts something. It's a juggling game of proper tension while trying to keep the alignment of the screw going through the bearing parallel with the bearing at the bottom.

Your best bet is probably just to file the sharp edge off of that part of the extrusion. It's a tight tolerance for that belt, and KAS is right that it's nearly impossible to adjust your belt tension without causing the belt to cant slightly.
