My New Printer

Post by DanHall »

We have a couple of other printers but this is my first build and our first Delta. I was impressed with the instructions and relative ease of the build. Got it together, calibrated and printing in a week including waiting for stuff like the roll of kapton tape in the mail. Other than the weekend that was just a couple of hours each evening.

It is stock so far with the exception of the 0.7mm nozzle I stuck on this morning. I have a nozzle blank too and am toying with the idea of going up to 1mm. As you can guess, I'm looking to get the speed up while maintaining reasonable resolution. The print in the picture is with the 0.7 nozzle and 0.56mm layer height.

One thing I would like to see is a print status statistic on the screen. Our other printers have a simple % shown to indicate how far along the print is. It's nice to be able to glance at the screen to get a good idea of where you are.

I read a little from many of you before we bought the kit so thanks for all the info!

Hi Dan! :) If you print from the SDcard then the % complete does display on the printer's LCD. If you print from a PC using MatterControl, the % complete should be displayed as a progress bar in the upper left of the screen.

Sweet! I obviously hadn't tried from the SD card yet. Thanks!
