A client was over to discuss a project not related to 3D printing and all the while he was in our tiny office (room for 2-3 people if nobody moves much) our old printer was busy printing away, about 5 hours into a 7 hour print. When he was leaving he was standing next to the printer talking to me for a while so I finally mentioned the printer. He looked, did a double take and did the normal WOW of non-makers.

The printer was being noisy, I assume?

Well, as much as any smaller one. Nothing like a Max without dampers but I can hear it running with the radio on.
Not to mention the moving parts he was about to lean on.

It seems like some people notice stuff right away and others never notice it at all. Your client's response was identical to that of drunk college girls in my dorm room last year when I had the printer running in the corner. I had cork dampers on mine at the time, but still, the shiny brass arms should be hard to miss!

If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.
