I think I popped a heating resistor. Hotend won't top 170C, and resistance shows to be about 9 ohm.
1. Is there a guide on how to replace these? Seems simple enough, but the devil is in the details, like what do I use for that orange goo that's in the holes? What's the best way to access the wires without cutting them? etc.
2. Is there any retail store (Radio Shack?) that may sell these resistors local?
3. What's the effort and/or parts needed to upgrade to a E3D hotend? Seems like a good decision, but I don't have much time to chase down a parts list and figure out the swap over process. Clearly, the E3D (v6) is needed...but what else for a stock Orion Delta?
Thanks for any help.

Helpful thread, thank you. I am trying to figure out if a cartridge heater is a better next step, or not. Started another thread, as it's a bit of a stand alone topic.

If I blew a resistor and had to do the work anyway, I would do the heater cartridge. I watched Gene's youtube video on how to install them. It seems pretty trivial.
That said, if you are thinking about going with the E3D, now you have a pretty good excuse to get one.
(Although if the install requires printing out some new bracket or something, that could suck...)

This is one of the best V6 mounts that I have used and needs to be printed before trying to use the E3D V6.
