I initially thought that all groovemount hot ends had the same mounting profile, but it seems there was a change between versions 5 and 6 of the E3D hot end. If you use the version 5 mounting plates with a v6 hot end, they'll fit, but the lower plate will not be tall enough and the upper plate will be too tall. The upper plate isn't much of an issue, but the lower plate doesn't have enough height to push down on the bottom metal lip where it fits the hot end. This results in less holding force. If you're printing something and the hot end nozzle bumps into some filament that isn't laying flat, it can nudge the hot end just a little in its mount, and this will cause layer shifting. No good!
Fortunately, it's an easy fix. I have tested new upper and lower mounting plates on my v6 hot end and they fit perfectly. You can get the updated files here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:137140
