Printed enclosure/plate holder

I have been working a bit on designing a new enclosure for my rostock max v2. My idea is to use wrap the machine with a an insulator material. In order to do this the melamine sheet that the heated bed sets on needs to extend out farther to allow clearance for the cheapskates. My idea was to create a whole new design around the heated bed that allowed for an enclosure and a new way to secure the glass plate. After a bit if designing I came up with this.

. It uses the screw holes already in place to hold itself down. It also wraps around the bottom melamine sheet providing a nice fit. I will be adding a see through door in the front. I will use velcro to attach the wrapped insulator material around the sides so it is easy to remove. I figure all of this will add extra heat to the bottom compartment so I intend to relocate all electronics to an external enclosure. I will also be adding a dedicated 24v power supply with a relay for the heated bed.

I have been printing/redesigning and am printing a full size version in pla right now. I will make a few adjustments and then print the final version in abs. Here is the first picture worthy print. I added 4 slots with a hole to allow for a bed holding device to be made and attached. It will use a screw to tighten down and hold the bed down firmly. The finished bottom piece will be printed in 6 parts. I will also design and print a top part that matches this giving a slot for the door to fit and clearance for the cheapskates to move.

Nice idea. And looking good too.

I am not sure i inderstand about the bed. Unless you have a pei bed, we remove it rather frequently. You should take that in to consideration.

There will be 4 clips that screw down to hold the bed down.I dont remove my bed very often. I suppose you could just get a cheap electric screwdriver and it would take all of 30 sec to remove the clips enough to get the bed out.

Got most if the bottom printed. The clips work good, I tightned them down too hard and broke the glass plate. A rubber bottom would be great to hold the bed in place. Maybe a dual print ninjaflex/abs clip would work. I just need to finish the design of the front piece for the plexiglass door. Here are some updated pictures.
