DISTRAUGHT! Short now Max v2 is dead

Post by cratica »

I was trying to remove the print nozzle on the hot end when my wrench shorted out against the resistor. (It was turned on so the heater would free up the filament so I could get it to loosen) Now my Max v2 is dead. The power supply hums but the LCD display is dead. Very distraught as I have a print job I for a client I must complete. :( :(

So, anyone else have this trouble and if so, what do I need to do to get this machine back up and running asap?

thank you,

Curtis

lcd screen is nice, but not required you should be able to print from PC if the rambo is still good

if rambo is dead i.e. no lights check fuses there are 3 total 2 micro and 1 blade

check to see if 12v is still coming off the power supply

Ok, will see if it still prints. On the fuses, where can I get them local? (I'm in Austin so I have a Fry's and probably Radio Shack). Would they have those tiny fuses?

No, unfortunately, there is no response from Repetier Host. It allows me to collect but the commands just pool up. It's dead. :(

Thank you. I located the fuses on the circuit board but they all look fine. Are the microfuses supposed to burn through when bad like regular fuses? Or can be look fine but be bad internally?

There is no way to tell if they are good or bad without using a meter to measure the resistance.
