print head buries

Post by js1515 »

Hello My orion is having an issue where every time I home it buries the print head into the bed is my best bet to flash the machine? Any help would be appreciated
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

Have you set the Z-height using the LCD?
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

I believe you can get this side effect if you accidentally set Z = 0 from the panel at the top.
I'd reset the ZHeight to something reasonable in the EEPROM settings then re zero it from the panel.

FWIW You don;t have to recalibrate between prints, I only ever do it if I change hotend or build surface.

You can set the zero using the front panel - follow the instructions in the user guide and you should be good to go.
