Timing out while pre-heating
Timing out while pre-heating
More of an annoyance really, but does anyone know of anyway to change the settings in the firmware to keep the printing from timing out when pre-heating? If I set the bed temp to 100C it always times out before it even reaches that temp, it says killed on the screen and turns off the bed which is frustrating.

In the printer config (I access mine through Repetier Host) there's a setting called Max Inactive Time. You can set that to a millisecond time limit of idleness before shutoff, or 0 to disable the shutoff.

Wouldn't any changes via Repetier Host work only if it was connected to the PC with the software, or does it in fact write that data onto the system itself?

Settings changes you make to the printer config through the Host software are saved in the EEPROM. Unless you've got EEPROM disabled somehow (extremely unlikely) those settings will be preserved after power cycling the printer.
