It took over 20 hours but its built!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jeff and I just completed the build on my Rostock Max v2, it took 22 hours total over 5 days. I also own a PrintrBot Simple which, even though it needs constant attention, is an incredible little machine that I can stare at for hours while its printing. I can't wait to start printing with the Max!

I am about to begin the [seemingly tedious] process of calibrating the Max and will hopefully be able to print the fan shrouds today!

I got her all calibrated and am about halfway through printing the peek fan shroud! The quality of this first print so far is incredible, beyond my expectations for sure.

I just noticed on the extruder, the clear plastic piece that covers the tensioner is 'wobbling' anytime it does a retract... is it normal for that piece to move like that?
EDIT: I should say that the piece in question can not be moved by hand.

As long as the screws are snug, I don't see slight movement as a problem.

Good luck!!! i spent a weekend putting mine together,,,, the two or so hours of calibration were the longest!!

The peek fan shroud printed out oversized... I measured the inside diameter of the slot the 25mm fan is supposed to fit into and it was 24.8mm and the outside diameter of the fan was 25.3mm which tells me that its over by ~0.5mm combined in "X/Y" travels. I went through and double checked all of the EEPROM params that could be affecting the dimensions like that and they were all still the defaults. I then double checked the tension on the belts and ensured that the towers were all still locked in... the X axis belt needed to be tensioned the most and for good measure I tensioned Y and Z a touch more as well.

After all of that, I re-calibrated the end stops and printed a 20mm x 20mm calibration cube. The cube came out oversized as well, but not the full 0.5mm I assumed from the fan shroud measurement. I haven't had a chance to attempt a re-print of the shroud yet but will after work today.

On my PrintrBot Simple I was able to do some simple math with actual measured machine movement distances and feed those numbers into the EEPROM. I understand that the math will be much more involved due to the delta-ness of the Max but is there a way to accomplish the same or similar type of calibration?
