Printed these and I coulld use some help for better results

I'm sorry but I cant remember what settings I used but I know I used the auto on extrusion width which I have stopped doing now BTW. The tops of their heads have spots where the ABS just didn't take left what looks like little half moon shaped cut outs. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to a way to prevent this from happening. Id like to print a nice pair of these guys for a x-mas gift to my mom, running out of time and I don't know what settings I would tweak to help this issue. I appreciate any help guys, thanks!

Are you getting any slicing errors? If so, I would try repairing the file with Netfabb. Those holes look too big for an extrusion width problem. Are those areas just not printing, or is the infill not supporting those spots? I hope you get them fixed for Christmas.

Those are the cuddling owls from Thingiverse and Netfabb does identify some errors in the STL.

Goto http://cloud.netfabb.com/
Put in the location of the STL file on your hard drive
Put in your email address
Click the appropriate boxes and upload the STL to the cloud.
It will repair the file and I think it sends it back to you repaired via email.

The link to the cloud service has a typo. It should be http://cloud.netfabb.com/. I've never tried the online version. I mostly just hit the automatic repair button in Netfabb basic and use the default settings. Does the cloud service have any advantages over that method?

I don't believe it offers any advantages, it is just easier for new users instead of walking them through all the steps in Netfabb studio.
You are correct about the typo, I will fix it.

I have netfabb but ca never get the repairs to save to the original file, guess I gotta learn that. The cloud thing said there were no errors on the one I downloaded. It is a hollow stl if that makes a difference.

Try that one if you have not. Sounds like others had problems with original version of the model.

I run all my models through netfabb before slicing. Even if it shows no errors, I run the automatic repair anyways.
Also size your model in netfabb if needed before slicing, it does a better job.
After repairing you have to export it back out as .stl

I just sliced the model, looks fine.
estimated print time 5 hours.

for a really nice print I would use 3 perimeters, 20% infill, 4 bottom layers, 5 top layers, .2 layer height

Yeah, I noticed afterwards the file name had fixed in it. Anyhow, I hope I can get this done cause of course one of the wires to the resistors came undone so I'm trying to get my hot end out so I can fix it and get it back in ASAP! Thanks for the slicer suggestions, I'll use Em when I got her back up and running!

Thanks for the suggested settings, only thing I didn't use was the infill as I wanted it to print hollow, but I think adding more solid layers to the top , 5 as you suggested, worked out great and there are no holes whatsoever! I switched to the other filament I had and that seems to print better, does better with overhangs and bridges. I used SeeMeCNC Natural ABS 1.75, I like this better than the yellow. I was having issues with the yellow jamming up in my hot end, could be the fact that it had just been sitting on the spool holder on top of my machine for a couple months, maybe some moisture got into it or something, I don't know.
