I was running a print today on my rostock max v3 and all of a sudden my printer went completely dark- no fans, lights, or any sign of power. I went a switched the outlet to see if it was just the outlet that was bad, but the outlet is working fine. When I flip the switch I get zero response from the printer. Everything seemed to be working fine before that point. I'm wondering if the power supply is shot, and if so what caused it? And lastly, before I spend $50 on a new one does anyone have tips on how to make sure this doesn't happen again?
I have a multimeter to test with but I have no idea how to use it if that would help someone smarter than I am get to the bottom of this problem.

Trouble shooting a power supply is a simple process. You can start by measuring the output voltage on the supply leads. If you have no voltage there then you can measure the ac voltage supping the power supply on the input leads. Do not forget to measure the power switch as they too can burn out.
If you have a fuse that should be tested, sometimes these fuses are inside the power supply and AC power should be disconnected before supply is disassembled, they usually have a fuse in line with a thermal fuse which is sometime overlooked but can also burn out. Your controller card also has fuses that can burn out.
What kind of supply (include power rating) and controller card are you using.

Check the fuses on the RAMBo first.

I am using the stock supply that comes with the Rostock Max v3-12 VOLT 29 AMP DC POWER SUPPLY https://www.seemecnc.com/collections/pa ... wer-supply
I used the multimeter and I think that there is power going into the PSU but no power coming out of it. Also the switch is working properly as well- power into the PSU goes to 0 when I flip it.
I don't have much experience with this, so could you or someone explain to me how to check the fuse inside the PSU? Or maybe just point me to an article or page rather than waste the time?
Also, from what I see there isn't any power getting to the Rambo board so I don't think the fuse on the Rambo board is the issue.

Also just so everyone is aware the PSU is flipped to 110 V not 220
