Hello from the home of the Coke bottle!

Post by lake29 »

Oh yeah (Kool-Aid man’s voice), Terre Haute, IN home of the contour Coke bottle.

My background is not in engineering or anything in that nature but I’m creative and like to build stuff. I actually work in marketing and event planning.

I purchased a V2 as a kit around January last year and after a bit of a learning curve (thanks JJ) I was successful. Well, I received the V3 self-calibrating head for a Christmas gift this year and after installing it I’m having an issue. After running the G-code for the initial calibration the X & Z arms go up and the Y arm goes down. I will admit before I started the endeavor I had little knowledge, but I feel know I now a bit and cannot figure out why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I will also post this the appropriate section.

Thanks,
Jason

Best guess, you uploaded the new firmware set to a V3, and didn't invert the axis in the firmware properly prior to loading it. go looking for something like Y_Axis_Invert in the firmware

Hey thanks for the quick response but I don't really mess around with g-codes much. Could you please be more specific.

Thanks again,
Jason

Also, up until last night the v2 settings for the firmware didn't have the Y axis inverted as it should've been.

Not just a fan, Know a bunch of the guys that make it and I used to race and teach racing for a living. Love The Grand Tour, I'm even in the first episode (after a very long flight from Frankfurt and drive to the secret location after being back from Europe for 10 hours)
