Onyx warping

Hi All, I see there have been some historical problems with Onyx warping on the V2. Has anyone with a Rev 8 Onyx had warping problems? At 80degC I see my Onyx bed dome up by over 6mm in the centre. With the glass plate and a 2mm aluminium heat spreader clamped down on top of it, I'm still getting 0 ...

Re: Bed temp drop/DEF SOLVED!!

Great tip skyjuice, thanks!

I've been having this problem intermittently for months and that's sorted it. My thermistor legs were also a fraction too long so I just bowed them out a little to get the tip right in the centre of the hole.

Re: Stepper Stuttering

Hi Javier I had intermittent issues when calibrating & traced it to the hot end whip plug moving around as the whip & Bowden tube were flexing. Because calibration moves the head to extreme positions it can work loose. I strapped mine on with tape or there's a whip clip on Repables http://repables ...

Re: First Print Great, then Blown Hotbed Thermistor

Hard to be sure from the photos but did you have the bead between the bed & the glass? It's supposed to be in the hole touching the glass.

Re: So what did I do wrong?

OK, after trying a heap of permutations with arms & hot end orientation, all fruitless, I came across a posting in the forums that vaguely implied that running G29 multiple times might be beneficial. I ran a G29 five times followed by two iterations of the OctoPrint auto-calibrate. Now reading 0.9 ...

Re: So what did I do wrong?

Thanks Mhackney,

I'll go over everything again. Any tips on how tight the belts should be? Currently at home position, if I slip a pencil behind the belt on the inside of the tower it holds it there. Anything heavier will fall.

Re: Super stringy prints, help!

As Noircogi says this is likely an issue with the Bowden tube not being pushed into the hot end far enough. I had exactly this problem early on with the v3. My tube was 7mm+ shy of the nozzle endstop. what happens then is that melted material creeps back past the heat break and grabs the incoming ...

Re: So what did I do wrong?

Thanks Gene, above & beyond the call of duty working on Christmas day! Unfortunately following this I'm still seeing no improvement. Has anyone else with a stock v3 ran through the process and got good results? Just to prove I'm not going mad? 1) clear EEPROM 2) power cycle printer 3) load latest ...

Re: So what did I do wrong?

Thanks for the pointers guys, 80 Steps/mm I've now successfully done a full recalibration following all of the steps I believe are required but the bed profile remains utterly useless post-calibration. Don't misunderstand me, I'm happy to tinker but somewhere there's a flaw in the entire process if ...

Re: So what did I do wrong?

Thanks for your reply, The peaks correspond to the gaps between the towers. Do you mean the Horizontal rod radius? That's at 154.78mm. With my limited but growing knowledge of delta geometry, I was starting to suspect that value. I see from the firmware that that's at 145 by default so it's a good ...

Re: So what did I do wrong?

Yes, I also tried the manual version and the quick auto calibrate script. All with pretty much the same results.

So what did I do wrong?

Hi, Let me say first that I've been printing some great small items using the old calibration script. BUT anything large is a catastrophe. I'm convinced I've done something stupid in the build like fitting the hotend upside down but I can't spot it. Hopefully you guys can... Using a feeler gauge and ...

Hi from the UK

Hey all, I assembled my Rostock MAX v3 about a month ago. It ran fine first time with no issues and despite a few hardware problems since (which the guys at seemecnc are sorting out) I'm having a great time printing small, mostly useless objects in PLA. The 20mm calibration cube is a firm favorite ...
