Sorry for the late reply, Please do tell if this has been resolved and how! Have you attempted any other prints? Were they roughly the same size, If you did?

Re: Did i burn up my heat bed?

Seems to be a tad bit more consistent. stil likes to drop to about 83 when its set for 90, but quickly brings itself back up.The Heated bed PID minumum is set to 80 i believe, should this be higher as well? I would leave the min alone. It will prevent you running at lower temperatures should you ...

Re: Did i burn up my heat bed?

Measure the voltage at the heat bed when it's first turned on. It could be a weak power supply. It's about the easiest failure mode to check before you start swapping parts. i dont have anything on hand to test it with, but i can get something tomorrow probably. Any chance it could also be a PID ...

Re: Did i burn up my heat bed?

that almost sounds like more of a thermistor issue, if it's immediate. If it takes a while, then it may be a PID issue, or a loose connection somewhere (such as between the power supply and the rambo, the auto fuse being poorly seated, or loose connectors to the bed, not just the solder connections ...

Did i burn up my heat bed?

As of late, ive been having heating issues with my print bed. Using both matter slice or the LCD. For what ever reason, it cant seem to get above 86. After first building the printer, i could reach temps as high as 110 no problem, but soon it began to struggle a bit, and eventually, it began to ...

Re: printer keeps loosing connection

Ive found out what as causing the brittle failure. Slic3r kept thinking i was using 3mm filiment, so it sliced it that way, leading to the large gaps in the peice. Ive found a way around all the problems so far, so while not solved, the issue has been avoided. Using repetier, i just download the g ...

Re: printer keeps loosing connection

is there any reason to use the server over the host for printing ? the server lacks its own slicer, so what is the use of it? it simply looks more appealing? Or am i missing something, because ive been told i do that... To the best of my knowledge I have never user Server. I use Host frequently ...

Re: printer keeps loosing connection

My savior. thank you, i cant believe it was that simple of a fix. You wouldnt happen to have any idea what would cause it to say that the com port is in use, would you? Open "Windows Task Manager" (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and take a look at "Processes". I suspect that you will see "Repetier Server" running ...

Re: printer keeps loosing connection

Well, we've "solved" the problem, kinda. I managed to connect them long enough to upload the gcode. And I went straight to printing, but, the quality of this one is absolutely atrocious. The first three attempts that got cut short came out amazingly smooth and strong. The last attempt came out ...

Re: printer keeps loosing connection

There are a couple of things you can try. Try a different USB cable, and make sure it's routed away from any power wires. You could also try replacing the USB Serial drivers, you can download the latest ones from FTDI's site. If possible you should try a different computer, could be a driver issue ...

Re: printer keeps loosing connection

a work around would be to export files to the SD card included with your printer, and print off that. Beyond that, I suggest trying a different USB port, potentially one on a different controller if you can tell, and making sure the connector is properly seated at the rambo. I thought about trying ...

From the start of this build ive been having issues (check stepper motors wont work) and iv come to realize most of the issues were user error. I managed to resolve all but one, and that is my printer refuses to stay connected. It will connect and remain connected for any where between 5 minutes to ...

Re: Stepper motors wont work

That should work on a temporary basis but you should get the proper fuse as soon as possible. The Rambo will accept 5 or 10 amp fuses, in my case I bought about 20 of the 10 amp version so that I will have spares. Best luck to you. ANNNNNDDDDD WE HAVE MOVEMENT! The carriages are moving along just ...

Re: Stepper motors wont work

I went ahead and soldered it,but I'd rather confirmation I did it right before I pop it in the Rambo.Used the ATC-10 fuse with lead free solder and some speaker wire.I know it looks sloppy, but they're nice and secure, believe me, im not making that mistake again.
