Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

Ok so I printed the calibration thing from thingiverse. After some adjustments to the tower angles (within 0.5 degrees), checking belts, skates, etc. This is what I have. The areas between Z and X is high (not much adhesion) and the area between Z and Y is Low (squished plastic) . Areas at the ...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

Reg, makes sense. I feel ya. However I do need the entire area. I'm mass producing 3D printed items for sale. I leave my printer on for long stretches, 19 hours was the max I think. Nervous night's sleep but it paid off. Also, I think given what 626Pilot and Bot have said I will be able to fix this ...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

So far no joy for me. I don't know, it's driving me crazy. I have two Rostock max printers. The normal sized one is having this Z0 gap issue between the towers. The 6 foot tall printer prints great between XZ tower, but has that gap issue between XY and YZ. So I'm just pulling my hair out at this ...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

Thanks for the info. I'm going to compile my data and send it in to support, see what they can make of it. I hope they see a simple mistake I made and it's fixed in two shakes of a lamb's tail. I did notice that in the newest version of the Rostock Max V1 firmware the carriage horizontal variable is ...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

No joy. I went through those steps, I have points 1-6 all within 0.05 of each other, and I still have very significant Z0 gaps (1-2mm) between the towers. At the towers I'm flush, but between it's the same thing, huge print ruining gaps. What does kind of work, 3 layers of tape between the towers ...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

Started the process today. My #1 and #2 spots were lowest, about 0.22 and 0.32 lower than the highest of the 6 points. I'm in the process of making shims now. AAA magazine cover is 0.1mm thick, magazine page is 0.05mm and tin foil is 0.01mm. Making my list of how thick each shim needs to be is like ...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet

I am having this exact issue. I changed the Carriage Horizontal Offset to 37.5 two months ago and between the towers I still had gaps, at the A-B-C points as per the pictures I've seen from Jim. I didn't know shims were needed. Tonight I will take off the ...

Re: E3D Release New Version 6 of HotEnd.

Well, as I mentioned in a previous post, I had being troubled switching filaments using E3D V6, as, for some reason, the filament bulges more than with V5. Then it is very difficult (if not impossible) to make it goes trough the little hole in the EZ-Extruder. You can see that I got something ...
