SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
In the beginning.....
There was a rats nest of wires, twisted, soldered and tapped.
Then came the Yellow Jacket Quick change hot-end plate.... and it was good.

Then came Trick Laser, E3D, and 713Maker presenting a multitude of choices for the user.... and it was good

* No soldering
* No pin crimping
* 100% compatible with Rostock Max v3 harness wiring.
* 100% compatible with the Stock SeeMeCNC platform and arms.
* On board micro switch to manually turn off part light ring.
* Allows you to quickly swap hot-ends
* Allows for quick repairs with nothing more than a jewelers screwdriver. replace the Thermistor, the Heat cartridge, or a fan within minutes.
Top connection is an 8 pin pluggable connector compatible with the Max v3 wiring. A Hot-End, peek fan and Part fan LED. There is also a 2nd connection that breaks out the 3 wires from the Harness if not using the accelerometer board, use this connection for a prob switch or your own accelerometer. Connections on the bottom is a Spring cage connection similar to the 8 pin plug, no soldering, no pin crimping. It provides connections for a part LED light ring, The Thermistor, Hot-End, a Peek fan and 3 connections for part fans.

Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
I was brainstorming for the longest time trying to think of how I was going to quick swap hotend setups with the accelerometer board with 713maker mount while trying to access the Bowden fitting to secure it. This takes care of both clean and Bowden access.

Good to here! They should be available in about 2 weeks.
If interested, shoot me a PM and I will create a pre-oder so they ship as soon as they are ready!

Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
It looks really nice and I was planning on getting one, but it needs one more pair for me.
We need all the connections it currently has plus one for a IR probe.

Unless you're looking to use the accelerometer and another probe at the same time?

yea I see it now, I was rushing when I looked at the pin out picture and thought the way the bottom was split matched the top.KAS wrote:Mentioned above in the text (There is also a 2nd connection that breaks out the 3 wires from the Harness if not using the accelerometer board, use this connection for a prob switch or your own accelerometer.)TwoTone wrote:It looks really nice and I was planning on getting one, but it needs one more pair for me.

At the same time seems improbable, but on different hotends you want to be able to swap out that does not seem improbable at all.KAS wrote:Unless you're looking to use the accelerometer and another probe at the same time?

Yep, if your not using the HE280 accelerometer board, you can use those extra 3 for what ever you want.

Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
Order placed. Thanks Jasper.
Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
I ordered one.
How about offering the connector for the 3 pin as well to make it simpler.

Thanks for mentioning that! I'll have to update the description. The 3 pin connector comes with it.TwoTone wrote:I ordered one.

The reason the 8 pin connector does not is because if you have a V3, you already have the correct connector - although it may not be the locking one. Just makes it a little cheaper for those that don't need it. I wouldn't expect people to have the 3pin one, so I include that with the board.
Thanks!

Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
Got a board this past Thursday at the MakerHive.
Install was super easy... the neatest and quickest EVER! Sure is nice to not have to crimp pins or solder.
Very handy to have direct plug in compatibility with stock SeeMeCNC 8-pin plug wiring harness.
Now I can quickly swap platforms between machines. HE280 on the MAX Metal custom build, E3D platform from MAX Metal on Stock V2/v3 etc. etc.
The little switch to turn off light ring is pretty slick also.

Excuse the ignorance on the abbreviations
SCL, SDA, INT?
SCL, SDA, INT?
Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
On an I2C bus, you have the Clock line (SCL) and the Data Line (SDA). INT is Initialize.TwoTone wrote:Excuse the ignorance on the abbreviations

Those 3 pins are only used on the Probe board from SeeMe, so if you are using your own hotend without the probe board, those 3 pins are open.

Close. You swung and missed on INT, but got the rest of it right.Jassper wrote:On an I2C bus, you have the Clock line (SCL) and the Data Line (SDA). INT is Initialize.TwoTone wrote:Excuse the ignorance on the abbreviations

INT is a line from an interrupt pin on the accelerometer that's used as an dedicated output signal to indicate a probe hit. So not Initialize, but Interrupt. It has nothing to do with the I2C bus.
SCL = Serial Clock Line. SDA = Serial Data Line. These are the only two data lines associated with the I2C interface. Also known as TWI (two-wire interface). Technically a third wire (a common ground between devices) is also required for it to work.

Thanks for the clarification. I've never use i2C so not familiar with it myself - was shooting from the hip.

Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
I managed to get the new connector hooked up to a E3D-v6.
I struggled getting the wires into the holes without deforming the wires (especially 26 gauge wires) against the internal springs. I tried activating the spring release while inserting, but that was too much of a juggling act.
So I tinned the wires with a little solder and then the assembly was very quick and smooth.

Re: SIMPLE CONNECTOR FOR HOTEND WIRING COMING SOON
Never put tinned wires in a spring connector.
It really wasn't hard to open the spring release
