Re: Faster Heated Bed Issue

So you can measure 24v across the solder points on the bed itself? What is the amperage going to the bed? You can put an amp meter inline with the bed, make sure the range is appropriate so you don't blow a fuse in the meter. What is the resistance across your bed heater? (disconnected from the ...

Re: Trouble upgrading rostock max V2 to V3

Warning: This is getting deeper than I have personally played with on the HE280, I assembled mine, but have not done any troubleshooting so this is theoretical knowledge, not hands on tested :D I believe the red light only indicates that the printer is logically trying to heat, it is not a ...

Re: Trouble upgrading rostock max V2 to V3

If I am reading that right, after 46 seconds it shut off due to the thermistor reading room temp. 46 seconds is long enough for you to either measure some heat coming off the heater cartridge or feel it with the back of your hand (without touching it) if the cartridge is actually heating. Do you ...

Welcome, I am kind of jealous of the v2 ( just got my first printer /a v3) since you are able to run Duet after everything I have heard about it :)

Re: Temp Variance

So, the last thing left to do is adjust the PID settings. I discovered autotune, ran that and updated my configuration.h to reflect the changes. (I say this with confidence....meanwhile I was standing over the power button to shut everything off if the temp when too high during autotune or during ...

Re: Temp Variance

What stumps me, is why am I having this issue? I have never printed ABS, but it looks like ABS and PLA have lower extrusion temps, but I have to believe that other people are printing PETG on the Rostock Max v3? What could be different about my setup, newer firmware setting than earlier v3's? I can ...

Re: Temp Variance

Well, I changed the Heat Manager for both the bed and nozzle to 0. Also described as Bang Bang method in the following link. https://github.com/repetier/Repetier-Firmware/wiki/Temperature-control The nozzle actually reaches temp now, just cycles above and below with the average being a bit below. I ...

Zoomed in a bit more at 255c/60c over 5 minutes. You can see that it never hits temp.

Re: Temp Variance

set to 220/60 initially, holds temp nicely. Just before 45:00, I change to 260/60 and you can see that it never reaches temp. You can also see that it isn't running at full heat either.

Re: Temp Variance

I am more than happy to download see what Repetier Host can tell me. Let me work on that. On the noise, if you look at the 220c/60c chart it is really clean noise wise as well. This would tend to indicate to me something else is going on rather than noise being introduced with bed power. Thanks for ...

Is the extruder clicking?
Can you feed through the boden and hot end by hand (holding the release and pushing).

Any chance you could post the code for your setz.gcode referred to you in custom controls?

Thanks, setz.gcode seems to overwhelm the search engine for some reason.

Re: Octoprint

NOTE: it is easier to setup user access control in the beginning and disable it, than try and enable it later. For some reason I can't get the wizard to run that creates the users.yaml file. I chose not to enable it thinking that could enable later, as well as not realizing that there are autologin ...

Another tidbit:
If you want to enable logging of the serial port, edit the config.yaml file and add log: true under the serial section.

Re: Octoprint

Did some more research, it appears that we are supposed to check all of the "Repetier" options under features to resolve issues with Octoprint. I have done so, two of them resolved issue, the others are likely issues I haven't run into based on some of the research. 2nd, I hooked up a camera, and ...

Re: Temp Variance

The room is at 22c. Running at 270c/80c there is a larger gap between set and actual so higher temp/power usage appears to exacerbate the situation. This can't really be a power issue however, because the both temps sort of stabilize above the previous lower set temps. I am completely baffled by ...

Seems more stable with the bed off, does that indicate power issues? Next test is crank the temp a little higher and see if it gets worse.

Re: Octoprint

Ok, found the "bug" and workaround that Octoprint put in place for idle updates of the temp screen when not printing. Looks like a couple of other settings there I need to investigate. Check Disable Detection of external heatups. This will cause Octoprint to send an m105 regularly to get the temp ...
