Hello from North Texas

Hello everyone. After a month of research and many many weeks of selling as much stuff I don't use anymore on Craigslist, I finally saved up enough to order the RMV2. I picked up the dampners based on how many times I seem to have seen that come up in the community forums. I told my wife it would be loud and she was displeased...so dampers it is! :)

A little about me....I'm a career programmer, I play a lot of Euro boardgames, and I also do a lot painting/minis and create lighting effects for them using an Arduino and some custom LED animation code I wrote for it. I've never owned a 3D printer so this is new territory for me....but I am already getting that same magical feeling I did back in the 80's when my dad brought home our first PC compatible with a modem. It is supposed to be here Wednesday...the wait begins. :) I hope to make ya'll proud and become part of your community! I promise I won't be a lurker.

:D

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your purchase, it definitely sounds like this is right up your alley.

Do you do any 3D modeling yet? Printing that first thing that's actually your own design is a pretty special feeling.

Good luck with the assembly, I can't wait to see your first print!

I designed this in TinkerCad in advance. My front speak does not have a wallmount and it's a very odd shape so standard ones won't work. I've never modeled 3D before and this is my first attempt. I tried to structure it so no supports will be needed. I suspect I must break it up into two parts when printing due to size. We shall see!

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Thanks for your purchase of the Rostock Max V2.
Waiting for it to arrive is the worse part, make sure you have version 3 of the manual so that you have the latest manual.
Good luck with your build and send us some pictures now and then.
Happy Building!

Quick question if anyone can answer, so I ordered my RMV2 right after the news of the upgraded cheapskates came out. Did my shipment include those since I purchased after the news of the upgrade came out? It's supposed to be here tomorrow so I should find out. I thought I had read that all new shipments would have them but wanted to be sure.

Since it was shipped after about the 17th, you should get the new carriages.
