Well, I was having problems with Slic3r making some crazy moves and stopping in mid print. I decided to update to the latest version and its been alot better. I lost all of my old configuations, but maybe that was good too. First print off the new 1.1.7 is looking great with faster speed and accuracy. And no crazy moves so far.

That is good news! If you see the program go back to it's crazy moves like the old ones please let us know that.

Yeah, it definitely works much better. Alot less clean-up of errant moves.

I see that the 1.2.0 experimental has been updated to 1.2.1. I'll have to give that a try, I had tried 1.2.0, but reverted to 1.1.7.

Every so often I go back and give Slic3r another try as I like it's concentric top and bottom layer options. I did that with 1.1.7 and the new experimental 1.2.1 on Mac OS X Yosemite. In both cases it crashed multiple times just switching tabs to configure it. 1.1.7 actually caused my Mac to completely lockup and force reboot. I haven't had that happen in a long time, in fact, since the last time I tried Slic3r earlier this year. Surely it can't be just my machine.

Thanks, same crash behavior on 2 different Macs running 2 different OS X versions (Yosemite and the previous release).

But on the flip side I've never had a virus and don't run virus protection software! Crashes are very rare now (and apparently isolated to Slicer!).
