Hello new member here! I am a software engineer and roboticist from NJ USA.

This will be my second 3D printer, my first was a Robo3d. I purchased the Rostock Max v2 after seeing them in action at the Science and Engineering festival last weekend in Washington DC. My kit will be delivered today, along with a few upgrade goodies I ordered from tricklaser.

Welcome. I'm new too, but still say "hey"!.

How was that event in DC? I was about to head down there, but my Rostock arrived on Friday of that same weekend. So you know how that weekend went. I did go to the Maker Faire in NYC last year. But imagine this event in DC to be way better/different. Especially for a roboticist (is that a real title?)..

The Science and Engineering festival in DC is held every 2 years. It focuses on teaching our youth (kid to adult) about- well Science and Engineering! It is FREE and AWESOME. Sparkfun taught my 7 and 8 year old boys to solder with free electronic kits. We watched They Might Be Giants perform, we met and talked with Mike Rowe, 4 astronauts from NASA, Bill Nye, visited booths from every 3D printer company imaginable. Watched robot competitions, talked to employees from all sorts of colleges, SpaceX, Nasa, LM ... the list goes on. My kids cried when the convention center closed down on day 2. It was incredible.

I will be there in 2 years with my own booth.
