Hi all...
So I was minutes away from biting the bullet and ordering the Max v2 kit, but the USPS option for shipping to Australia has disappeared
I was pretty keen to order a kit but the UPS shipping rates are kinda crazy (like almost the price of the kit)...
Oh well...maybe some other time. Cheaper shipping to Australia would be cool guys (like TNT maybe?)

Welcome to the Forum!
We have many users from Australia, perhaps they can speak up about the shipping costs of the Rostock Max
to Australia.

Well the USPS shipping option is back....yippie!
I just ordered the V2 kit - so now the waiting game begins. Hopefully it escapes the 10% import duty police at Australian customs
Only downside is now I have to clean up the workshop in prep to make room for the thing...haha

Welcome, Awesome bunch of people on this forum.. you made the right choice.
Shipping took around 3-4 days for me and it was at my door.
I was lucky enough to skip the 10% import tax so hopefully you do also.

I ordered my Rostock on Monday 14th but it has to come to Tasmania.
I'll post here as soon as I get it and will let you know if I got pinged for customs and how long it took

yea, it was stuck in customs for a little while. That was a worry but then it got released and delivered a few hours later
thats what $350 for shipping does i guess haha

Yeah - USPS tracking basically stops working once a delivery hits customs. I think Aus Post takes over and their tracking sucks. It normally doesn't update until after they deliver.

You and I have covered this in my intro thread but I think it'll help to post here too in case another Aussie does what I did and search the forums for "Australia"
- FedEx take over local delivery in Australia from USPS once the shipment leaves the US.
- If you do get charged for import tax (more likely than not it seems), it'll be about $200AUD
- You will be called by a foreign call centre for FedEx. Ask to speak to the local office instead and they will offer you the option to pay by bank transfer rather than credit card
- Ask FedEx for the "shipper's reference number" or "sender's consignment number". This number should match the USPS number that SeeMeCNC give you in the confirmation email
- The FedEx consignment number is longer than the USPS number and if you google the FedEx number it'll take you to their website where you can see the status of the parcel and the USPS number at the bottom of the page
