Hello from Scotland!

Hi everyone!

I've had my Orion Delta over a week now! I've wasted a heck of a lot of plastic in that time, as you can imagine, but I think I've now graduated from 'basic printing' school, and have had some great advice from support already to speed me on my way!

I've used an Ultimaker at a local maker's lab, fairly extensively but with expert guidance always at my shoulder. I've also printed quite a bit through Shapeways, and a laser sintering service down in London 3DprintUK. These options have all helped me with my project, however it's making a world of difference having a printer right here!

I've attached some photos of what I've been doing - I was pleased to discover that the Orion actually comes with its own heated build chamber - see photo!

All the best

Hello to you Donald! Welcome to the forum!
As you have discovered, the Orion is a fine printer and I find myself using it more than its big brother the Max.
You should send up some pictures of what you have created with the Orion, and I love your heated chamber, sort of.
If you ever have a question, just leave us a message, someone will help out.
Enjoy your new Orion and Happy Printing.

Thanks Eagleszoar!

If anyone fancies making use of the box the way I have, it was pretty easy obviously! The only things I needed to do were to cut a hatch in the left side for the spool to stick out a bit. I duct-taped a smaller box over that to keep the warmth (I won't call it heat) in, and a small hatch at the back that I passed the flex through, then taped it shut!

I'll post some pics of my prints so far over on the "What Are You Making?" section later tonight, but the answer is (of course) 3D printed bagpipes!
