Hello everyone,
My name is Alexandre, I am a Mechanical Engineer and designer, finishing up my Masters degree at Stanford. Most of the stuff I do is related one way or the other to 3D printing. I have been a proud Rostock Max owner for about a year now (I got mine directly from the team at the Bay Area Maker Faire last year) and have been using it intensively ever since (some cool prints made with the machine here http://www.a-jais.com/191402/2645097/ga ... ed-ukulele and http://www.a-jais.com/191402/2604345/ga ... ne-adapter).
I have been experimenting a lot with the idea of printing conductive materials with RepRap printers in the past two years and have recently decided to start my very own open hardware start-up. We have some information about us is up at http://www.rabbitproto.com. In short, we have developed a dual extrusion system made to enable the printing of traditional filament and conductive paste and are building an environment to design the objects that will use this technology. I'll make a separate post to tell you more about my machine and our extruder, but we are looking for people that want to get their hands on our prototype and start testing; shoot me a message if you are interested. I will share some of our latest ideas here and bounce off ideas with you guys if that's ok. Our most recent design was made for the Rostock Max but the end goal is to make that device compatible with a whole range of machines.
Cheers,
Alexandre
