I just started performing the PID calibration and it's smoking some from the hot end, it doesn't seem to be any wires melting or anything but from the hot end adapter plate itself, is this normal, or is there something wrong? It successfully ran thru the calibration, but I want to make sure there isn't a problem before heating up the hot end again.

what hot end? when i was running seeme hotend smoke was caused my me burning the peek

Especially the part on testing actual accurate temps with a multimeter/thermocouple.

It's the hot end that came with the kit. Should the peek fan be on even during the pid calibration? The never said to turn it on, but I'm wondering if it should be on regardless.

The Peek fan should be on anytime the hotend is heating for any reason.

if it was smoking.. most likely it is already damaged, warped, or otherwise taken a different shape than original. if you have any issues i would replace that and try again.

The first time I heated the Seemecnc hot end, there was some smoke and an unpleasant smell coming from the RTV that holds the heating resistors and thermistor in place, even with the fan on. Hopefully that's what you're seeing, and not burning PEEK. If it is damaged, I'd get an E3D hot end. They are much nicer.

Damn :/ And it seems like something isn't working correctly with the fan control in either the RAMBo or the Repetier software as I could not get it to turn on thru Repetier, however if I plug it directly into a 12V power source it spins up just fine.

It may be a good idea to connect it directly to 12V that way you are sure that it will turn on and stay on.

That's actually what I went ahead and did, it smoked again for a little bit, but stopped, i'm hoping that maybe it was the rtv I used, especially since I noticed it seemed to have issues with curing fully thru even after 24 hours, running thru all the calibrations at the moment so I can try a test print and see if I damaged the peek or not.

When I put my unit together a little over a week ago, my hot end smoked for a few seconds before it settled down. Just a bit of smoke and it wasn't even up to the PID temperature yet. I don't know if maybe it was the oil on the hot end from manufacturing or maybe a bit of the RTV silicone, but it went away quickly. I was concerned too but it's never happened since that first PID calibration.
