Hello everyone, my name is Randy. I recently graduated with a BS in Physics and in my last year I spent a quarter working with a professor and a team of students to build a 3D printer. Since then I have had an interest in 3D printing and if E3 showed me anything it was how big the field is becoming. I know there is a lot I need to learn but, I am excited to take on the challenge. Soon, I plan to buy a DIY kit but, before then is there any informational material I should look into?

Welcome to the Forum! We do have an assembly manual for the Rostock Max if your interested in a kit build.
You can download it here: http://www.geneb.org/rostock-max/Rostoc ... -Guide.pdf
The Rostock Max has one of the largest build volumes of any printer and is highly recommended.

That. Is. Awesome.

Fortunately, I can't see Yakima from here. I've got a huge volcano in the way.

Hahaha, that is amazing! Thank you all. The community here is very friendly.

And thank you neurascenic. The science and engineering behind these printers is something I really want to know inside and out.

Send up one of your planes with a camera, don't forget to post the video here under the other topic.
I'd love to see it.
