another error: printer set into dry run mode before restart

Hello,
Been awhile! First, big ups to Rostock Max V2. what a work horse!! even, though i never perfected the bed leveling to completely utilize the 280mm, i made tons of great prints in a small diameter that i was able to level. on top of that, made some money too! made more than what the printer is worth for sure.
Long story short, i tried to upgrade to a more recent firmware and encountered issues with the horizontal radius. It was a lot different and i keep grinding into my bed. The center and the outside was good, it seemed like it was making a deeper arc in between. I did some emergency shut offs. Unfortunately, i forgot about the emergency button on the LCD face(not sure if it makes a difference). I just flat out shut the printer off. I did this about 4x, and after, this error came on. Before i do a full tear down and cutting wires, is there a way to do a "restart" like it says? I uploaded the old firmware and the horizontal radius is a lot better, but didn't solve this error. Nozzle/bed temp: def shows up on the LCD. Some searches are indicating it's one of the thermistors. I don't have a multimeter to check. So i'll just replace them. Before i do that, just wondering if anyone has any easy recommendations that i can try? Can the shut off cause a short or damage the thermistors? I've been beating the hell out of this printer, so it's been good for 5 years! I'm assuming my shut off caused this problem, but not sure.
Thanks!
