Yeah, gauges normally have a cable that pulls to increase the gauge reading, so pushing on the probe gives you the opposite effect if it has range for it.

I'm having issues using this tool. I can connect it to my Kossel, load my EEPROM settings in the advanced section, and I make sure that the probing method is Z-Probe, but when I check hieghts, it crashes into the build plate and wants to keep going. Any idea as to what might be causing this?

This happens sometimes with portable applications. I went ahead and uploaded the binaries to Github, so this program can be downloaded in the release section of the repository.

First off, thanks for the wonderfull program you made here.
Works like a charm!
I'm missing some rigidity in my system tho as my measurements always fluctuate 0.01-0.03mm.
Has me wondering what's the cause.

Thank you for creating such a great idea!
Unfortunately doesn't seem to work on my Zonestar D810B machine :(
Am on Mac using parallels desktop windows 7 - 64 bit.

Tried to use the latest version of DeltaKinematicsCalibrationTool.exe but when I clicked on connect and calibrate this happens to my display:

https://goo.gl/photos/SW6fZ4voi94ZjC9N9

It doesn't seem to calibrate, upon restart everything goes back to normal but really hope someone can help out with my Delta printer's calibration. Been trying to crack my head on this for weeks now and this youtube video seems to be the only last option I have left.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im5MDpTkzCM

Am using Zonestar's D810B delta printer now and below is my auto calibration log using Gcode G32 to probe the axis levels (which are way off at the extreme ends and not consistent in the middle print areas). Have already tried doing G32 a few times but getting similar results (printer isn't auto-calibrating well).

Hi! First of all I want to thank you for creating this amazing tool!! It has helped me a ton with calibrating my printer!

I was wondering if there is any way to keep it from changing endstop offsets. I manually jogged the nozzle to an exact center between all 3 towers and measured the offsets using G132 S2, now everytime I home, the nozzle is in perfect center between the towers. However, when I run calibration, the endstop offsets are changed and when the printer thinks it is centered, it actually is off by a few mm. Printing first layer is almost perfect (struggled a lot to get the first layer right and then finally came across this tool).
It's only when I print taller objects, they come out wavy vertically instead of getting a straight line.

So a bit nervous to try this program without asking. Is OpenDACT compatible with the HE280 Accelerometer probe? I've searched but not seen anything definitive one way or another.

In order to run the OpenDACT program in Windows 10, I just need to download the program, connect it to my V2, reset eeprom, adjust the diagonal rod length and change the option from FSR to z-probe? For some reason when I do this, the hot end crashes into the build plate like it is using an FSR.
Thanks in advance for your help

Are their plans to make this work with the HE280 and be automated? The newest SeemeCNC firmware is better but it's still not perfect and I'm REALLY getting frustrated with this printer. It would seem that your tool will solve all of out problems and do it easily and would be dead simple with the accelerometer probe

I would think not. This app has its share of issues and is not cross platform. This tool WILL NOT solve all the problems. Dave Crocker's web based delta configuration wizard is quite excellent and his auto calibration will do the best job available, bar none. You can also calibrate your printer manually.

What I have observed with the HE280 auto cal is that it gets the delta radius calibration right - which is the difficult one to do manually. It seems to mess up the tower offsets - which is simple bed leveling. So it is easy to tweak these manually to get level.

Autocalibration is NOT a silver bullet though. Even with a well calibrated and mechanically built machine, many things are dynamic and can result in first layer print problems. The larger the area of the print, the higher the probability that something small will cause a problem. I have no doubt the any gremlins in the firmware calibration will get sorted out, the form of calibration that they are doing is very simple. But there are memory and processing power constraints on RAMBo so it will ever be as good as David's least squares fit calibration which is both very fast (<30 seconds) and results in excellent calibration. But even with it, there will be occasional issues as these machines are not static beasts that never change. David is working on auto compensation and i started testing that the other day. The combination of auto calibration and grid based compensation is the ONLY complete solution. Don't expect delta grid compensation nor expect 7 factor calibration on Repetier firmware. But for what it does at the price point it does it at, the V3 and RAMBo are good compromises. It is a small percentage of V3s that are experiencing calibration issues, not even close to the majority of V3s present this issue so I am sure a solution be it mechanical or firmware will be found. In the meantime, if your printer presents the known level issue you can simply do a manual leveling adjustment and move on. But I highly recommend you not go down this OpenDACT path without reading EVERY post here to see exactly what issues lurk.

How does one go about that? I'm running the Dev branch firmware and it's very good. According to the G29 terminal output it's got me at .01mm error between the towers(after 4 runs of G29), BUT i'm still having bed tilt issues and it's driving me insane.

Lik Doug68 said in the other thread, this does not look like bed tilt.
It looks like first layer adhesion problems in combination with a filament that shrinks a lot when cooling, like ABS.
The larger your object, the more frantically it shrinks and pulls up previous layers.
Solutions: ABS juice or better printsurface, more bedheating, enclosure
But that is better discussed in the other thread you started.

Except it only and always occurs in the same spot. it's not adhesion issues it's bed slant you can see it when it prints the ring around the object. it's squished on the YZ side and round on the XZ side

It is likely a combination of these factors. The V2 guides have an entire section on calibration. The first step to calibrate end stop offsets is all you need to do.

While it does appear the skirt around that corner is kind of high, the "bent" corner you see is /classic/ ABS warp. To the point where if I was going to write a textbook on 3D printing, I'd use your photo to describe ABS warp. (Unless of course you're using PLA, in which it STILL looks like classic ABS warp, but at least I'll shut up about it. :D )

Just for giggles, re-print that part with a 6mm brim and see how it comes out.

I've occasionally gotten some lift on larger PLA prints, but nothing like that. That looks like ABS to me.

Hey guys, I just tried to use OpenDact manual calibration and it was giving me weird numbers back. It wanted me to change the Horizontal Radius to 59! I had to go back and use the javascript html page. That worked fine. I went through about 7 iterations and everything is within about 0.1-0.2mm.

I was using OpenDact 3.0.1 because I, currently, can't compile the program so had to use the one with the binary.

I was wondering if there was some setting I needed to set to use OpenDact manually. I got back non-sensical numbers.

I'm still running the old 0.91 firmware but since I am using manual calibration that shouldn't matter. I used a dial gauge to get the offset from the center zero.

Thanks.

That's not bed tilt. What settings are you using? I run my bed at 110C with a piece of aluminum as heat spreader. And the Hotend at 230 with an enclosure. If you don't enclose it, your printing will peel from the corners. If you don't have a super strong heating pad for your bed, ie. non-stock, your bed will vary about 15C from center to edge. That's why it's peeling.

I would say this is great. 0.01-0.03mm variation is from my understanding the accuracy you can expect. See in the data sheet of your gauge.

Hey guys

I'm trying to calibrate my custom built Delta Printer.
But I must have set someting worn in the tool, because the results get worse instead of better...

I was using OpenDACT 3.10A

Here I started a tuning process, and I stopped, because Its not working, but you can see, that its getting worse...

This is ultimate tool for delta printers, but I do not use REPetier so I hoped that some could help me find a way to make it work with Marlin, right now I dont need latest OpenDACT, I would be fine with Delta-Bed-Calibration-Tool but I cant figure out how to translate Alpha Rotation, Delta Radius, XYZ offset, Horizontal Radius to Marlin tnx :)

Hello...

It's been a while since anyone posted here, but I just discovered this. I found the html version, but the latest openDACT is 3.1.1a on github, but there is no release link for that version (there is for 3.1.0a). Is there a build for 3.1.1a or is that still not ready?

Thanks
