Yes, i usually run PLA at 60C, and ABS at 80C, whether I use glue stick or hairspray or PEI.

I use 55C for all my PLA work. I've never printed on cold glass.

Re: Printing in a drafty room
I usually have my bed heated to about 75 for PLA.
Re: Printing in a drafty room
Well, thought I would give a quick update. After lathering the build plate with glue and numerous attempts to calibrate the Z height, I had almost given up the ghost when it comes to printing. I have begun to receive my order of PEI and tape in order to upgrade the build plate as well as upgrade the hot end to an E3D V6.
But then I decided to give MatterControl a shot. Well, low and behold I am able to successfully print with the prints sticking to the bed quite nicely.
It is weird because I tried just about every setting I could think of in S3D. I do not know what is different but for now, I guess I will be using MatterControl.

First Layer Hieght % on the layer tab? It's about the only thing that could cause a different fist layers between slicers. I set mine to 100% then calibrate with feeler gauges.
Also uncheck Update Machine Definition and Update Firmware Configuration on the G-Code tab.
