Huzzah!

With the print head and bed temps sorted, and the right (ie not TOO thick) juice in use on the kapton on the glass on the bed, and with a complete recalibration of Zs and printer radius, happy to report great success.

A couple of noob mistakes were causing problems on the bottom layer - I was leaving it too long between loading the nozzle and starting the print so it was gumming up with burnt ABS. Now I shoot 3cm of filament just before I hit the Run button and she's golden.

Still a little porous on the top perimeter so I might ignore my mathematics and bring the Extrusion Multiplier in slic3r back up a bit from the 0.89 I had in there.

It's now going to be a case of tweaks and looking at how far I can push up the speeds, one at a time, I guess. Happy days!
